Palestinian leadership to attend WWII Victory celebrations in Moscow

GORKI, April 13. /TASS/. The leadership of Palestine will attend celebrations on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in the Second World War in Moscow, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas said Monday.

"It was very pleasant to accept an invitation to the May 9 festive events, this is a great honor for us," Abbas said.

"We know that it is a source of great pride for the Russian people. This is our duty, and we are very much glad," he told Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The Russian head of government thanked Abbas for these words.
