Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan to hold naval exercise in Caspian Sea in June

Preparations include ship exercises, including joint maneuvering and combat practices, including elimination of air and surface targets

ASTRAKHAN, April 13. /TASS/. Russia’s Caspian flotilla in June will hold a joint exercise with the naval forces of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, including live firing practice, the press-service of the Southern military district told TASS. Russian ships will visit Azerbaijani and Kazakh ports.

The crews of missile and gun boats The Grad Sviyazhsk, The Uglich, The Volgodonsk and The Makhachkala, as well as support ships are already in the process of preparations for patrol mission in the Caspian.

"Preparations include ship exercises, including joint maneuvering and combat practices, including elimination of air and surface targets," the Southern Military District said, adding that "in the course of the patrol mission in June Russian naval ships will pay visits to Azerbaijan’s port of Baku and Kazakhstan’s port of Aktau.
