MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Russia formally remains party of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe and is ready for further consultations on weapons control, a senior Russian Foreign Ministry official said on Friday.

"Russia formally remains party of the CFE Treaty but there will be no return to the treaty," Anton Mazur, the head of the Russian delegation at the Vienna talks on security and weapons control said.

"We are ready for further consultations on weapons control regime in Europe," he said.

A month ago Russia walked out of the Joint Consultative Group, the last body linking it with the CFE Treaty. Therefore, the 2007 decision to terminate Russia’s participation in the CFE treaty has become comprehensive.
