Russian charter flight makes emergency landing at Egyptian airport

The plane bound for Ufa, the capital of the Russian Republic of Bashkiria, was dumping fuel for two hours before landing, no one was injured in the incident

CAIRO, April 9. /TASS/. A charter flight carrying 232 Russian tourists and nine crew members has made an emergency landing after an egine failure at the airport of Sharm el-Sheikh, a popular Egyptian resort on the Red Sea, an airport spokesman said on Thursday.

The plane bound for Ufa, the capital of the Russian Republic of Bashkiria, was dumping fuel for two hours before landing. No one was injured in the incident.

The airport's services were put on alert. Fire engines and some 20 ambulance cars were waiting for the landing, the airport's spokesman said.
