MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Fans of the Moscow FC Spartak have marked the 50th anniversary of the first spacewalk at a Russian Cup match against FC Torpedo.
On March 18, 1965 the Russian cosmonaut Alexei Leonov took the first ever spacewalk. Leonov has been long known as the FC Spartak’s ardent fan. So ‘Spartak, Forward!’ exclamation was attributed to him as first words while stepping out of the spaceship.
On Saturday during the first time of the match the Spartak fans unfolded a red and white banner featuring Leonov in a spacesuit. Red and white are the club’s traditional colours.
