MOSCOW, March 19. /TASS/. Russia’s State Duma Chairman Sergey Naryshkin has confirmed on Wednesday readiness for inter-parliamentary talks on Ukraine in the "Normandy format."
"I confirm readiness to start inter-parliamentary consultations in the Normandy format, of course, with the participation of our Ukrainian colleagues - Verkhovna Rada deputies," Naryshkin told journalists.
The Duma chairman said he recently discussed the possibility of holding talks in this format with the speaker of the French Senate.
"We saw positive reaction and readiness, and I hope that our colleagues - parliamentarians form France, Germany - will be able to use the resource of parliamentary diplomacy in the interest of restoring peace in Ukraine," Naryshkin said.
