MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Over 1,500 military servicemen from the Russian Western Military District’s tank force are taking part in tactical exercises with live firing at a recently built combat training center in Mulino, located in the country’s Nizhny Novgorod Region, a senior military official said on Tuesday.
"The exercise also involves over 500 pieces of the armor, military and special hardware," Colonel Oleg Kochetkov, a spokesman for the Western Military District, said."
Kochetkov added that the live firing drills will involve T-72B3 tanks, which are a recent upgrade of Russia’s ageing T-72B model, and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as some other military hardware.
The current exercise at the Mulino training combat center, built for simulating any tactical environment and opened on December 1, 2014, will last until March 21.
