More than 100,000 people may visit Army-2015 forum — organizers

The forum is expected to bring together over 500 military industrial companies in the Moscow Region on June 16-19, 2015

MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Organizers of the international military-technical forum Army-2015 expect that more than 100,000 people may visit the event, the Human Element agency said on Monday.

"I am confident such an opportunity to address directly to experts in advanced innovative development, exchange views on promising engineering solutions, groundbreaking technologies and their practical use, will facilitate development of modern military thought and strengthening of international military cooperation," the agency quoted Russia's Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu as saying in a statement received by TASS.

The forum is expected to bring together over 500 companies in the Moscow Region on June 16-19, 2015. According to the minister, "Corporations, R&D institutions, higher education establishments, defence industry businesses, military weapons and equipment developers and manufacturers from all over the world will show their latest achievements in hi-tech production."

"The Forum is geared towards demonstrating capabilities of scientific organizations, defence industry businesses, weapons and equipment production, innovative technologies, both from Russia and abroad, as well as enable cooperation between leading foreign military goods developers and Russia’s scientific organizations and defence industry businesses," Shoigu said in his statement.

The forum is expected to be visited by military and diplomatic authorities from more than 100 countries.

Demonstration program of the International military-technical forum "ARMY-2015" is under development and will include demonstration of products presented at the exhibition by defense enterprises and the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

Scientific and business program of the International military-technical forum "ARMY-2015" is based on the proposals of the military government, Federal Executive authorities and organizations and involves the conduct of activities in the format of scientific-practical conferences, seminars, plenary sessions, round tables and presentations of new technologies, armament, military and special equipment.

Within the framework of the business program is planned to discuss topical issues of development of armament, military and special equipment and the creation of a science and technology base in the sphere of innovation.
