Criminal case opened against owner of burnt shopping mall in Kazan

The current reports say about 17 dead in the fire

KAZAN, March 15. /TASS/. Tatarstan’s investigators opened a criminal case against owner of the burnt down shopping mall in Kazan - a dollar billionaire Alexei Semin, press service of the regional Investigative Committee said on Sunday.

In the fire died citizens of five countries, including Russia, press service of the local emergencies ministry told TASS on Sunday referring to information from the republic’s forensic bureau. The current reports say about 17 dead.

"14 bodies have been identified at the forensic bureau, among them were eight foreign citizens - two from Tajikistan, one from Azerbaijan, four from Uzbekistan, and one from Turkey," the press service said.

Alexei Semin is head of the ASG Investment group of companies, a dollar billionaire. He lives in Moscow and in France’s Chateau de Leveville.
