Russia's Kazan business center fire death toll rises to 13

A total of 650 people were rescued from the fire that broke out in Admiral shopping mall in Kazan on Wednesday

KAZAN, March 13. /TASS/. The death toll in the fire at the Admiral shopping mall in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, has risen to 13 as rescuers recovered another body from the debris, a local emergencies official said on Friday.

Igor Panshin said a total of nine bodies had been identified.

He added that one of the victims was a firefighter who was one of the first to arrive at the site of the accident and "died trying to save people."

"Some 25 people went missing," Panshin said adding that rescue works would continue until all of them were found.

He said that more than 900 people had been involved in the rescue works.

The shopping mall caught fire on Wednesday. A total of 650 people were rescued.
