Airborne troops in Russia's Tula region receive new Rakushka armored personnel carriers

The Russian troops received 24 new military vehicles

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. The first batch of the new Rakushka armored personnel carriers and BMD-4M airborne carrier vehicles was delivered to the Tula Airborne unit, representative of the Russian Defense Ministry's press service Yevgeny Meshkov said Wednesday.

The Russian troops received 24 new military vehicles.

The new BMD-4M airborne combat vehicles and advanced multi-purpose Rakushka armored personnel carriers have generally confirmed the needed parameters during the state testing which was completed in 2014. Commander Colonel General Vladimir Shamanov earlier said a total of 64 BMD-4M and more than 20 Rakushka armored personnel carriers are expected to be delivered in early 2015. In 2014, Russia’s Airborne Troops received more than 20 BTR-82A advanced wheeled armored personnel carriers and also around 200 vehicles for various purposes on the basis of KAMAZ.
