Putin and Security Council focus on Eurasian economic integration

A meeting of leaders of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus may take place in Astana later this month

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Integration between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus was in focus as President Vladimir Putin met Security Council members, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"High on the agenda were issues related to the development of integration in the Eurasian Economic Union in light of forthcoming contacts between the leaders of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus," he said.

Last week, the press service of Kazakhstan’s leader said a "troika" summit could take place in the capital, Astana, later this month.
