MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Investigators ask the court to arrest or put under house arrest Sakhalin Region governor Alexander Khoroshavin who is suspected of accepting a bribe, Moscow’s Basmanny Court spokeswoman Anna Fadeyeva said Wednesday.

"A relevant request from an investigator has been received by the court and will be considered soon," Fadeyeva told TASS.

Khoroshavin has been brought to the court, the session will start within 30 minutes, the court said.

The governor of Russia’s Far Eastern Sakhalin region, Alexander Khoroshavin, is suspected of taking a 1 million ruble ($16,000) bribe, the official spokesman of Russia’s Investigative Committee said on Wednesday.
