MOSCOW, March 1. /TASS/. A lioness killed an intoxicated man who had got over a fence at a zoo in central Russia’s Belgorod and approached the big cat’s cage, local police said on Sunday.
A zoo worker called the police saying he had found a body of a man with multiple wounds near the cage of the lioness.
Preliminary reports say the man, in his 50s, was drunk as he penetrated the territory of the zoo though the fence and found himself in a dangerous zone next to the cage with the lioness.
The lioness "inflicted bodily injuries on him that became fatal," the police said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
