Ukraine peace proponents should promote direct dialogue between Kiev, DPR, LPR — Lavrov

The efforts should be continued and everything should be done for this direct dialogue to be launched and bring results, Russia's foreign minister says

MOSCOW, February 2. /TASS/. Those who want peace in Ukraine should do everything possible to promote direct dialogue between Kiev on the one hand and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) on the other, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Monday.

"It’s necessary to organize direct dialogue between the Kiev authorities and the LPR and DPR," Lavrov said after a meeting with his Indian and Chinese counterparts in the RIC format (Russia, India, China).

"These efforts are facing attempts to disrupt the process. But we, those who want peace, should continue these efforts and do everything for this direct dialogue to be launched and bring results," he said.
