MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent a telegram to Sergio Mattarella congratulating him on his electoral victory as Italy’s president, the Kremlin press service said on Saturday.
Partnership between Russia and Italy has been long based on time-tested traditions of friendship and mutual respect uniting the Russians and Italians and on a solid foundation of efficient economic co-operation and trade, the telegram reads.
Putin has highly praised experiences of both countries in coordination of efforts to solve issues on the global agenda.
Also, the Russian president expressed the confidence that the encouraging potential of Russian-Italian ties would be preserved and strengthened in all spheres for the benefit of both countries and in the context of ensuring stability, security and wellbeing in Europe and the world as well.
