Senior bank official in Russia’s Far East kills three employees, commits suicide

According to the source, the victims are two women and one man

BLAGOVESHCHENSK, January 27. /TASS/. A deputy head of Russia’s Central Bank’s main department in the Amur region has shot dead three employees and committed suicide, a source in local law enforcement agencies said on Tuesday.

Russia’s Central Bank confirmed the incident. “Law enforcement agencies are working at the scene,” the bank’s press service said, without giving any further details.

According to the source, the victims are two women and one man. One of the women worked as the bank’s department deputy head and the other one was the department chief, while the man headed one of the bank’s departments.

The first deputy chairman of Russia’s Central Bank, Georgy Luntovsky, told TASS that the Bank of Russia regards this incident in Blagoveshchensk as an "awful tragedy."

"We extend our sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of the dead employees and we will provide assistance to their families," the Central Bank official said.
