The chief commander said now the Air Force received fighters Sukhoi-30SM and Sukhoi-35S, as well as modernised Su-25 attack planes

BARNAUL, January 24. /TASS/. The Russian Air Force will begin receiving T-50 new generation fighters from 2016, as it has been pre-planned, the Air Force Chief Commander Viktor Bondarev said on Saturday.

“The Air Force is developing its abilities. As yet, we are receiving aircrafts of 4++ generation, but from next year we shall receive T-50 - aircrafts of the fifth generation, which are not inferior to the U.S. F-22, or even exceed foreign analogues on certain specifications, maneuverability, first and foremost,” he said.

The chief commander said now the Air Force received fighters Sukhoi-30SM and Sukhoi-35S, as well as modernised Su-25 attack planes.

He commented on spectacular aviation show of Russian Aces, saying the events are aimed mostly at the youth - to attract young people to the Armed Forces, to the Air Force.

The PAK FA is a fifth-generation fighter programme of the Russian Air Force. The T-50 is the aircraft designed by Sukhoi for the PAK FA programme. Unlike F-22, which uses stealth technology, 85% of the surface of Russian T-50 is covered with unique nano materials that decrease both the visibility of the plane and the air drag. T-50 can fire missiles hidden in internal departments at hypersonic speed.
