MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. The European Union will introduce the biometry procedure for Russians applying for the Schengen visas within six months, EU’s Ambassador to Moscow Vygaudas Usackas said on Thursday.
The new system will allow Russian citizens to apply for the visa online. After the visa information system is launched, “traveling will become easier,” the diplomat said.
Earlier reports said the European Commission planned to introduce a requirement for biometric data in April, 2015.
