Medvedev pledges Russian government is committed to its social liabilities

GORKI, January 16. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev pledged on Friday the Russian authorities are committed to all government liabilities, especially in the social sphere.

“Of course, we will do our best to fulfill duly all the liabilities we have undertaken, especially in the social sphere,” he said at a government meeting dedicated to social issues.

He reassured that the government’s priority tasks in the social policy remained the same. “Key attention will be focused on the labor market. Today, it is vitally important to support those industries that can provide jobs for people, ensure their well-being,” Medvedev said, adding that another key task for the government was to improve the system of social allowances and ensure support of families with children.

The Russian prime minister noted that today’s meeting would be one among many further anti-crisis meetings.
