MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. Russia’s deputy defense minister will lead a special panel of inquiry commissioned to investigate the death of an Armenian family in the town of Gyumri for which a Russian serviceman is thought to be responsible. The investigators are already on the way to Armenia, the Defence Ministry’s spokesman has said.
According to information available at this point, one of the solders of the Russian military base in Armenia is suspected of shooting a local family of six in Gyumry, in the country’s north-west.
“For investigating the tragedy, a special commission of the Russian Defense Ministry under General of the Army Arkady Bakhin has been dispatched to the Russian military base in Armenia,” the spokesman said.
