MOSCOW, January 4. /TASS/.Russia confirms participation in the “Normandy format” meeting at the political director level in Berlin on January 5, a reliable source has told TASS.
“In Berlin, Russia will be represented by the director of the Foreign Ministry’s second department (for the CIS countries), Viktor Sorokin,” the source said.
Earlier, a diplomatic source in Berlin said that the forthcoming “Normandy format” meeting for Ukraine might take place in Berlin on January 5 and a foreign minister level meeting might follow shortly.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko told a news conference late December there were plans for a summit level Normandy format negotiations in Astana on January 15.
