Putin discusses Ukraine settlement with Russia's Security Council

MOSCOW, December 26. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Security Council permanent members on Friday to discuss a wide range of issues, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

The meeting focused on “social and economic problems, international issues and the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis in the context of the Contact Group meeting that was held in Minsk on December 25”, Peskov said.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the speakers of the lower and upper houses of parliament - Sergey Naryshkin and Valentina Matviyenko, presidential chief of staff Sergey Ivanov, secretary of the Security Council Nikolay Patrushev said and his deputy Rashid Nurgaliyev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu, FSB director Alexander Bortnikov, SVR head Mikhail Fradkov and a permanent member of the Security Council, Boris Gryzlov.
