CSTO foreign, defence ministers and secretaries of security councils to meet in Moscow

The meeting will be dedicated to preparations for a next regular meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Organization

MOSCOW, December 21. /TASS/. Foreign and defence ministers and secretaries of Security Councils from the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization /CSTO/ will meet in Moscow on Monday, December 22, the Russian foreign ministry said on Sunday.

The meeting will be dedicated to preparations for a next regular meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Organization.

“The agenda of the joint meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Minister, Council of Defence Ministers and Council of Secretaries of Security Councils will include further steps to strengthen the system of collective security, coordinate foreign policies, promote military cooperation and allied relations within the organization,” the ministry said.

“In view of Tajikistan’s taking over the presidency in the charter bodies of the Collective Security Treaty Organization from Russia, special attention will be focused on priorities of Tajikistan’s presidency in the organization,” the ministry said. “Participants will consider a draft statement of the heads of state and number of other documents prepared for the session of the CSRO Collective Security Council, and will discuss a number of organizational, administrative and financial aspects of the CSTO activity.”

The session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will take place in Moscow on December 23.
