MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Russian Armed Forces have set up seven combined units of troops and eight military bases in Crimea in addition to the forces already stationed there, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said in a report to an expanded session of the Defense Ministry's Board.
As reported earlier, an expanded Air Force grouping with fighter jets, strike and assault aircraft, frontline aviation and airlifters assigned to it had appeared in Crimea.
A source told TASS a sufficient group of air defense forces had been set up in Crimea as well. It included two battalions operating S-300 missile systems. Supplies and logistic servicing were organized in Crimea, too.
A separate brigade of submarines will appear in the tables of organization of the Black Sea Fleet. As reported earlier, it will get six diesel-electric submarines by 2016.
The flagship submarine, the Novorossiysk, has already joined the Black Sea Fleet.
