MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service director Alexander Bortnikov said on Tuesday one of the priorities in 2015 would be to improve the system for combating terrorism in Crimea.

“The priority task of the NAK (National Anti-Terrorist Committee) and the Federal Operative Headquarters in 2015 will be to improve the regional segment of the nationwide counter-terrorism system in Crimea, including its preventive components,” Bortnikov said at the National Anti-Terrorist Committee session.

Among regions of special attention, he named Russia’s Arctic.

The system of responding to terrorist threats has been tested in maritime border areas for the first time this year, he said.

“During the exercises in the Arctic Circle, units of different agencies trained joint actions to suppress terrorist acts on facilities of maritime areas,” Bortnikov said.
