MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. Russia and India have prepared more than 20 documents under the program of strategic cooperation expansion. The most important documents are planned to be signed during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to India on December 11, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.
According to Ushakov, the Russian leader will hold meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Kumar Mukherjee. Putin will also meet representatives of the business community.
The sides will sign, in particular, an agreement between the Russian and Indian Defense Ministries on cooperation in the sphere of flight safety, the strategic vision of the strengthening of cooperation in the peaceful uses of atomic energy between Russia and the Republic of India, the program for the expansion of cooperation in the oil and natural gas sphere.
“The sides will focus on the further promotion of Russian-Indian specially privileged strategic partnership as these relations are characterized,” Ushakov said.
The Kremlin press service reported previously that during the talks with Indian partners in New Delhi, it is planned to discuss further strengthening multidimensional Russian-Indian cooperation, including issues of increasing mutual trade and investments, and deepening cooperation in nuclear energy, with focus on developing mutually beneficial projects in innovation and high-tech.
Current issues on the international agenda, including in the context of deepening mutual coordination within multilateral organizations like the UN, SCO and BRICS, will also be discussed. Following the meeting, the parties are expected to issue a joint statement and sign a whole package of bilateral documents, the Kremlin said.
