KHARTOUM, December 3. /TASS/. Foreign intrusion by "unwanted guests" meddling in regional conflicts brings tragedy and the breakup of nation states, Russia's top diplomat told his Sudanese counterpart on an African visit.

Interference from overseas assuming a leading role in settling sovereignty issues was witnessed in Iraq and Libya, and now the same is being attempted in Syria”, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told Ali Ahmed Karti on Wednesday, ahead of Russia and the League of Arab States gathering for talks in Sudan's capital.

“Today, I hope a session of the strategic forum on relations between Russia and the League of Arab States will debate in detail ... so that no-one will hamper countries in the Middle East and North Africa being rulers of their fate to preserve sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Lavrov said.

Russia supported Sudan’s role in solving regional problems, “including a meeting between Libyan neighbour-states tomorrow,” he added.
