Russia optimistic about chances for success of next round of Sextet-Iran talks - diplomat

“For all the time of Sextet-Iran talks negotiators have never been just close to accord, but have never had such a well-developed basis, he said

BRISBANE, November 15. /TASS/. Chances for success of a next round of talks between the Sextet of international mediators and Iran are high and Moscow’s mood is quite optimistic, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters.

“I believe that chances (for progress) not only exist, but they are high,” he said, adding that “For all the time of Sextet-Iran talks negotiators have never been just close to accord, but have never had such a well-developed basis (for final accord).”

The deputy foreign minister noted that the point was in taking a political decision. “Talks from November 18 to 24 will be quite enough for this, but there are no guarantees that a decision will be taken in some capitals, primarily Washington and Tehran,” he added.
