Man faces trial in Siberia for killing friend with chocolate bar

The man is now facing criminal charges punishable with a term of up to 15 years behind bars

NOVOSIBIRSK, November 10. /TASS/. A man in the Siberian town of Ob may face up to 15 years in prison for killing his friend with a chocolate bar, the press service of the local prosecutor’s office said on Monday.

The incident took place in June 2014, when the 40-year-old man, who already had criminal record, and his friend, both drunk, fell out and started a brawl. The man knocked down his friend, kicking and beating him up. Then, he took a chocolate bar and thrust it into his friend’s throat. Unable to breathe, the man’s friend died instantly. The man took his friend’s mobile telephone and money and fled the scene to be later detained in Novosibirsk.

The man is now facing criminal charges punishable with a term of up to 15 years behind bars.
