MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. Russian Defense Ministry and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) were asked to consider possible creation of an army formation made of foreign citizens in Russian army, Izvestia daily reported on Monday.
A Russian foreign legion is planned to become a guarantor of stability in Central Asia. The move plans that legionnaires will receive remuneration at the level of operating Russian servicemen and will have an option to receive Russian citizenship after six years of military contract service.
The Defense Ministry failed to give comments on this initiative immediately.
