MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The date of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Japan has not been discussed yet, but the issue may be raised when the Russian leader and the Japanese prime minister meet on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Beijing on November 10, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said Friday.

“There are no plans for agreeing a date for the visit at this meeting,” he said. “I have no idea whether the Japanese partners will bring up that issue, but I cannot rule that out,” Ushakov added. “Whatever question the partners will care to raise will be discussed.”

Earlier, there were plans for Putin’s visit to Japan this autumn. However, preparations for the visit were paused over the situation in Ukraine.

“Dates are not being coordinated at the moment,” Ushakov said.

As he dwelt on the likely topics of Putin’s conversation with Shinzo Abe in Beijing, Ushakov mentioned trading and economic cooperation, investment, humanitarian contacts and culture.

“The two leaders will exchange views on major international problems, too,” he said.
