Airport in Grozny back to routine mode after fire put out

The fire has broken out in the siding on the 2nd floor of the main airport building, representative of the Chechen regional emergencies department Timur Taisumov said

GROZNY, November 4. /TASS/. A fire has broken out at an airport in Grozny, capital city of the Russian North Caucasian Republic of Chechnya, on Tuesday morning, the fire was put out completely at 6.30am Moscow time (3.30am GMT), representative of the Chechen regional emergencies department Timur Taisumov told TASS.

“The fire has broken out in the siding on the 2nd floor of the main airport building. The fire was extinguished fully at 6.30am Moscow time (3.30am GMT),” Timur Taisumov said.

No people were injured in the accident, he said. The airport operates in the routine mode.

Twenty-eight firemen and seven units of machinery were involved in the fire fighting.
