UNITED NATIONS, October 22. /TASS/. It is high time to put into practice Russia’s proposal made four years ago on a UN Security Council mission to Palestine and Israel, Russia’s UN Permament Mission reported on Twitter.

According to Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin, Israel-Palestine talks launched last year under the US auspices, have deadlocked, he said.

Russia proceeds from the fact that there is no alternative to Palestinian unity, the ambassador said. It believes a split inside Palestine should be approached on the basis of political platform of the Palestine Liberation Organisation and the Arab Peace Initiative, Churkin said.
