MILAN, October 17. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has arrived in Milan to take part in the Asia Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit, is holding a bilateral meeting with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.
“Upon arrival in Milan Putin left for the Royal Palace to take part in a dinner in honour of the summiteers on behalf of the Italian president. The Russian president had brief meetings with the heads of state and government of several states on the sidelines of the dinner. Then Putin and Napolitano have started a bilateral meeting,” Peskov said.
“Till the end of the day he (Vladimir Putin) is planning to have a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Earlier, the meeting was postponed,” he added.
