MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. US plans to supply weapons to Ukraine are not what is needed for political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said Thursday.

Lukashevich recalled that the Minsk agreements on a ceasefire and exchange of prisoners in the embattled southeast of Ukraine point to the necessity to stop fire and withdraw heavy armaments.

“And such tendencies undermine agreements on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis,” the diplomat said.
