MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Unilateral actions and demonstration of force in the Cypriot settlement are inadmissible and fraught with aggravating the situation in Cyprus and in the East Mediterranean region, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry commented on a meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexey Meshkov and Cypriot presidential special envoy Sotos Zackheos.
“During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of Russian-Cypriot relations and possible prospects for their development in different fields,” the ministry said.
Meshkov and Zackheos “exchanged views on the Cypriot settlement, including the normalization of the situation over the exclusive economic zone of Cyprus,” the ministry said.
