GENEVA, October 1. /TASS/. Russia is bearing a considerable financial burden as it provides humanitarian aid to eastern regions of Ukraine, Russia’s ambassador to the UN and other international organizations based in Geneva, Alexei Borodavkin said on Wednesday.

“We’re bearing a considerable financial burden from the point of view of providing humanitarian aid to south-eastern Ukraine and supporting Ukrainian refugees,” he said. “The Russians are voluntarily raising money, foodstuffs, medicines, prime necessities and baby foods through public organizations and this activity has grown over into an all-Russia movement.”

Aid is given on equal terms to the Ukrainians living in Russia and those who stayed in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, Borodavkin said.
