MOSCOW, September 22. /ITAR-TASS/. The Caspian summit will be held in Astrakhan, southern Russia, on September 29, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.

The summit will involve the presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. “The 4th Caspian summit will take place in Astrakhan on September 29. At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin the presidents of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Ilkham Aliyev, Hassan Rouhani, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, will participate in the summit,” the Kremlin said.

The summit “will focus on cooperation between the Caspian countries and the implementation of the decisions taken at the previous summit in Baku in 2010. The summiteers will also determine priorities for further cooperation”, the Kremlin said.

During the summit, Putin is expected “to have several bilateral meetings with his Caspian Five counterparts”, it added.
