Crimea’s election commission endorses results of regional election

SIMFEROPOL, September 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Election commission of the Republic of Crimea has endorsed official results of election to the State Council, the regional legislature, a report at the official website of the Election Commission said.

“Election Commission had a meeting at 02:00 hours September 16 where it endorsed the results of the election that was held September 14, 2014,” it said. “The commission decided to deem the election to the State Council of the first convocation valid.”

A total of 75 deputies have been elected - fifty of then in the republican constituency and another twenty-five, in single-mandate precincts.

The United Russia party received seventy mandates /70.18%/ votes in the republican constituency and all the twenty-five mandates in twenty-five constituencies.

The Liberal Democratic Party of Russia /LDPR/ received five mandates, the Election Commission said.

It also said 53.61% of all the registered voters came to the polls on Sunday.
