Medvedev content over United Russia performance at Sunday elections

“United Russia had shown a very good result,” he said at videoconference in the party’s elections headquarters

MOSCOW, September 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister and leader of the ruling United Russia party Dmitry Medvedev said he was content with the results of the Sunday regional elections across Russia.

“United Russia had shown a very good result,” he said at videoconference in the party’s elections headquarters.

“I think the voter turnout demonstrated the interest to elections in conditions of the current actual political competition,” he said.

He said that United Russia’s success demonstrated that the “party has once again won the voters’ credit of trust.”

He noted that the elections had been held in a “serious competitive landscape.” “In the current conditions, when the turnout is not very high, our party is capable of mobilizing the electorate,” he stressed.
