Meshkov met with the French and German ambassadors to Russia, Jean-Maurice Ripert and Rudiger von Fritsch, to discuss the situation in Ukraine in light of the measures being taken to resolve the conflict in its south-eastern regions peacefully, the Foreign Ministry said.
“The Russian deputy minister stressed the great significance of continuing the political dialogue within the framework of the Contact Group and the inadmissibility of any actions that can undermine it,” the ministry said.
Meshklov also met with Vygaudas Usackas, head of the EU delegation in Moscow, to discuss “pressing issues of Russia-EU cooperation and various aspects of the internal political crisis in Ukraine”, the ministry said.
