MOSCOW, September 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia may create its own response to the US Prompt Global Strike system if necessary, Yury Borisov, a deputy defense minister and executive secretary of Russia's Military-Industrial Commission under the president said Wednesday.

Russia "can" do so and “will be forced to if it becomes a real threat,” Borisov said following a meeting on drafting a state arms program for 2016-2025.

He stressed that Moscow will first of all work out systems to counter these new armaments because Russia’s key doctrine is defensive.

Prompt Global Strike (PGS) is an endeavor by the United States to create a military system capable of delivering a precision strike from conventional weapons within one hour at any site in the world.
