MOSCOW, September 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Tajikistan’s capital Dushanbe before a session of the Heads of State Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), an aide to the Russian president said on Wednesday.

“The two leaders will hold a fourth meeting this year,” Yuri Ushakov said. “The heads of state are due to exchange views on international agenda, including interaction within the SCO framework.”

Russia’s stance on the pressing global problems coincides with that of China or is close to it, in particular on the Iran nuclear programme and on the situation in Korea peninsula.

Russia and China closely co-operate within the format of the United Nations, the G-20 and BRICS, the association of five major emerging economies - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
