The President already touched upon the defence industry-related subjects on September 8 during his meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. At that time, the Head of State, on a suggestion from the Premier, abolished the Regional Development Ministry, as well as Rosoboronpostavka (defence industry deliveries) and Rosoboronzakaz (defence order) agencies.

As far as a 2016-2025 state program for armaments is concerned, its individual aspects are already known, although the program proper is still in the blueprint phase. It refers, in particular, to the development of a new conceptual design of a helicopter for the Ministry of Defence. The Ministry has already referred a respective proposal to the Rosvertol helicopter manufacturing plant.
