Delhi expressed the hope that at the end of the year Russian President Vladimir Putin would make his first visit to the country since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had come into office.
Earlier, India’s Foreign Ministry said that the trip would help to define the future relations between the two countries.
Putin met with new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the sixth summit of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) that was held in Brazilian cities of Fortaleza and Brasilia on July 15-16.
Modi spoke then about his intentions to develop and expand strategic partnership with Russia.
