TOKYO, September 08. /ITAR-TASS/. The city authorities of Tokyo have expressed hope to strengthen the relations of twin cities between Tokyo and Moscow, Tokyo Governor EITI Masuzoe told journalists on Monday upon completion of a five-day visit to Russia.
The Tokyo governor said he met the Moscow mayor twenty years after the governors of the two cities had last exchanged mutual visits. Masuzoe confirmed that he and his Moscow counterpart Sergei Sobyanin agreed to resume regular visits so as to strengthen the twin-city relations between Tokyo and Moscow.
During his visit to Russia Masuzoe took part in a summit of the Asian network of major cities (ANMC21) held in Tomsk (southeast Siberia) on September 4.
On Sunday Masuzoe held talks with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The heads of the Moscow and Tokyo administrations reached an agreement to organize a visit to Tokyo for a delegation of Russian entrepreneurs in October 2014.
