ZHURIHE FIRING RANGE (China), August 29. /ITAR-TASS/. An active phase of anti-terror drills of the Eurasian security bloc kicked off in China on Friday.

Military contingents from Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan that are member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have switched to the concluding stage of the war games dubbed Peace Mission-2014.

The maneuvers have become the SCO’s largest joint drills, involving over 7,000 personnel and almost 500 pieces of the armor.

Russia has sent over 1,000 troops, 60 pieces of the armor, 8 Mil Mi-8 AMTSh combat transport helicopters and 4 Sukhoi Su-25 attack aircraft.

Chiefs of the General Staff of the SCO member states are monitoring the anti-terror drills. Russia is represented by Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov.
