TOKYO, August 26. /ITAR-TASS/. The date of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Japan’s capital, Tokyo, will be agreed “on a basis of all-round debate on different factors,” Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference on Tuesday.

He gave this comment on Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s statement that Japan confirmed the date of the Russian presidential visit.

Speaking at a news briefing on Monday the Russian top diplomat said, “We do not link relations with Japan to the conflict in Ukraine or climate change. We have a feeling that our relations are self-sufficient. Our leaders - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and President Vladimir Putin said about this so, when they met.”

“We proceed from the fact that our president was invited, he accepted an invitation and Japan confirmed the date of this visit,” Lavrov noted.

As for Russian-Japanese relations, Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga said, “Naturally, we will develop relations in the way beneficial for our country.
