ASHULUK (Astrakhan region), August 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Aerospace Defense Troops are holding fire drills of air defense missile systems S-300 and S-400 during large-scale military exercises near Russia’s southern city of Astrakhan on Tuesday.

Around 800 servicemen and more than 200 units of military hardware are participating in war games, spokesman for Russian Defense Ministry Colonel Igor Klimov told reporters.

He noted that formations assigned to protect Moscow and Russia’s central industrial district are involved in military exercises.

“Three air defense missile regiments armed with S-400 Triumf and S-300 Favorit are practicing fire drills in the march,” Klimov said. Target systems Kaban and Pishchal were used in fire drills, he added.

The colonel noted that seven trains and three military transport airplanes Ilyushin Il-76 were required to transfer military units to firing range Ashuluk.
